Competitors may be required by the Organizers to carry the event sponsors numbering system on their sails/boats.
12.1 Decision to Race - The helm and crew of a boat are entirely responsible for their own safety , whether afloat or ashore and nothing , whether in the Notice of Race or Sailing Instructions or anywhere else, reduces this responsibility.
12.2 It is for the helm and crew of the boat to decide whether she is fit to sail in the conditions in which she will find herself . By launching or going to sea, and or staying at sea, the boat confirms that she is fit for those conditions and her crew is competent to sail and compete in them.
12.3 Nothing done by the organiser can reduce the responsibility of the helm or crew of a boat nor will it make the organisers responsible for any loss, damage, death or personal injury, however it may have occurred as a result of the boat taking part in racing. The organisers encompass everyone helping to run the race and the event and includes the Organising Authority, the Race Committee, the Race Officers, patrol boats and beach masters.
12.4 The provision of patrol boats does not relieve the helm and crew of a boat of their responsibilities
We recommend that boats are adequately insured including insurance against third party claims of at least £2,000,000, or the equivalent foreign currency, and must be able to provide evidence of this cover at registration
Life-jackets or other adequate personal buoyancy to be available to all competitors at all times whilst afloat. Wet suits and dry suits are not adequate personal buoyancy.
